Research & Verification Methodology

HairGrowNeeds is an independent research and information platform. Our clinic, pricing, credential, and procedure information is compiled from identified sources and may include information provided directly by clinics. We distinguish source-reported information from independently verified information wherever possible. HairGrowNeeds does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment and does not currently have a standing independent physician or surgeon serving as a medical reviewer.

At HairGrowNeeds, we aim to provide transparent, research-based information about hair restoration clinics, procedures, pricing, credentials, and the hair restoration market.

Our research combines publicly available information, clinic-published information, official licensing resources, professional sources, and published medical research. Because clinic information, pricing, credentials, and treatment offerings can change, we record source information and verification dates wherever possible.

How HairGrowNeeds Researches Clinics

1. Clinic Discovery

We identify hair restoration clinics through publicly available sources, including official clinic websites, professional directories, licensing resources, and relevant local search results.

2. Credential & License Verification

Where applicable, surgeon credentials and professional licenses are checked against publicly available state licensing boards, government resources, or relevant professional organizations.

We distinguish between information that has been independently verified and information that is only reported by the clinic.

3. Verification Status

To make our research easier to understand, clinic information may be assigned one of the following statuses:

🟒 Independently Verified

Information confirmed through an independent authoritative source, such as a state licensing board, government record, professional organization, or other appropriate authoritative source.

🟑 Source-Confirmed

Information supported by a clinic’s official website or another identifiable source but not independently confirmed through an authoritative third-party record.

βšͺ Not Independently Verified

Information for which we could not locate sufficient independent evidence to confirm the claim.

These labels describe the source and verification status of the information and do not represent an endorsement, quality rating, certification, accreditation, or guarantee of a clinic or surgeon.

Claim-Level Verification

Verification applies to individual data points or claims rather than necessarily to an entire clinic or surgeon profile.

A profile may contain a combination of independently verified, source-confirmed, and not independently verified information. The verification status displayed for each field reflects the evidence available for that specific claim at the time it was reviewed.

4. Pricing Verification

We record prices that are publicly published by clinics or otherwise clearly identified through a documented source.

Where available, we identify the pricing basis, such as:

  • Per graft
  • Per procedure
  • Package pricing
  • Consultation fee
  • Other published pricing structures

We do not present unpublished prices as confirmed prices.

Pricing Status

🟒 Published by Clinic
The price is publicly listed by the clinic.

🟑 Clinic-Confirmed
The price was provided or confirmed by the clinic but is not publicly displayed on its website.

βšͺ Not Publicly Listed
We could not locate a publicly available or independently confirmed price.

Prices can change, and readers should confirm current pricing directly with the clinic before making financial decisions.

5. Procedure Verification

We check which procedures, treatments, and technologies a clinic publicly states that it offers.

Depending on the clinic, this may include:

  • FUE
  • FUT
  • DHI
  • ARTAS
  • PRP
  • Other hair restoration treatments

We distinguish between procedures a clinic states it offers and claims about the effectiveness or superiority of those procedures.

6. Surgeon Involvement

Where available, we record how a clinic describes surgeon involvement in the treatment process.

If the clinic does not clearly describe the surgeon’s role, we record the information as Unknown rather than making an assumption.

We do not infer the level of physician involvement from a clinic’s marketing language alone.

7. Review & Reputation Research

We may review publicly available patient feedback and ratings from relevant platforms.

Reviews are treated as user-generated information, not as independent medical evidence.

We do not use patient reviews alone to determine whether a treatment, surgeon, or clinic is medically effective.

8. Data Timestamping

Clinic, pricing, credential, procedure, and other market information can change over time.

For this reason, our internal research records include the date information was checked.

Where applicable, published pages may display a Last Updated or Last Verified date to indicate when relevant information was most recently reviewed.

Understanding Last Verified Dates

A Last Verified date indicates when HairGrowNeeds last checked the applicable information against the available source.

It does not guarantee that the information remains current after that date. Information such as pricing, clinic locations, surgeon affiliations, licenses, memberships, procedures, and other details may change after verification.

How HairGrowNeeds Researches Surgeons

HairGrowNeeds maintains separate surgeon profiles to document publicly available information about hair restoration surgeons and their professional credentials.

9. Surgeon Research & Credential Verification

We research surgeon information using publicly available professional and regulatory sources. Depending on availability, these may include:

  • State or national medical licensing authorities
  • Government records
  • Professional medical organizations
  • Specialty boards
  • Hair restoration organizations
  • Official surgeon or practice websites
  • Other identifiable authoritative sources

Where applicable, we may verify information such as:

  • Medical license status
  • Professional memberships
  • ABHRS credentials
  • ISHRS membership information
  • Board certification
  • Specialty
  • Current practice or clinic affiliation
  • Procedures publicly associated with the surgeon

Credentials are evaluated individually. Where a credential or professional status can be confirmed through an appropriate authoritative source, it may be marked as Independently Verified.

Information found only on a surgeon or clinic website is identified as Source-Confirmed unless it can also be independently verified.

HairGrowNeeds does not use licensing status, professional memberships, board certification, directory inclusion, or other credentials as a measure of clinical skill or treatment quality.

Source Priority

Where multiple sources are available, HairGrowNeeds generally prioritizes authoritative independent sources over clinic or practitioner marketing materials.

Depending on the specific claim, sources may be prioritized approximately as follows:

  1. Government or official licensing authority.
  2. Official professional organization.
  3. Official specialty or certification board.
  4. Official regulatory source.
  5. Official clinic or surgeon website.
  6. Reputable third-party directory or database.
  7. Other identifiable sources.

The appropriate source depends on the specific information being verified. Not every claim can or should be verified using the same type of source.

10. Medical Research Sourcing

For medical and treatment-related claims, we prioritize:

  1. Peer-reviewed research
  2. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
  3. Professional medical organizations
  4. Government or public health resources
  5. Other authoritative sources where appropriate

Clinic marketing materials may be used to document what a clinic claims or offers, but they are not automatically treated as independent medical evidence.

11. Medical Claim Verification

Specific medical statistics, treatment outcomes, success rates, graft-survival figures, complication rates, and similar claims are checked against their underlying sources whenever possible.

Before publishing a quantitative medical claim, we aim to determine:

  • What study or source supports the claim
  • Publication year
  • Study type
  • Population studied
  • Sample size
  • Follow-up period
  • Exact reported result
  • Whether the source actually supports the wording used on our website

When a source does not support a generalized claim, we either revise the wording to accurately reflect the evidence or remove the claim.

12. Source Transparency

Where a factual or medical claim materially depends on an external source, we aim to identify or link to the relevant source.

Our goal is to allow readers to understand where important information came from rather than presenting unsupported statistics or generalized claims as established facts.

Directory Inclusion

Inclusion in a HairGrowNeeds clinic or surgeon directory does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, ranking, certification, accreditation, or guarantee of quality, clinical skill, or treatment outcomes.

Directory profiles are intended to provide transparent, research-based information that readers can review and independently consider when researching hair restoration providers.

The presence of a clinic or surgeon in the directory should not be interpreted as a statement that HairGrowNeeds considers that provider to be among the best or most suitable for a particular patient.

13. Editorial Independence

HairGrowNeeds separates clinic-provided information from our own research and analysis.

Clinic websites and representatives may provide information about their services, pricing, procedures, or credentials. Such information is identified as source-provided information where appropriate.

We do not intentionally present promotional statements from clinics as independent medical conclusions.

Commercial relationships, including advertising, affiliate relationships, sponsored content, or clinic partnerships, do not by themselves determine how information is described.

14. Corrections

If an error is identified and can be verified, we update the relevant information.

Substantive updates may be reflected through the page’s Last Updated or Last Verified date.

Readers and clinics can contact HairGrowNeeds to report potentially inaccurate information and provide supporting documentation.

15. Update Frequency

We periodically review clinic and pricing information, with priority given to information that is more likely to change, including:

  • Pricing
  • Clinic services
  • Surgeon information
  • Credentials
  • Procedure availability
  • Clinic contact information

The frequency of updates may vary depending on the type of information and availability of reliable sources.
