Eyebrow transplant costs vary substantially by country, surgeon, graft count and clinic pricing model. In our research, the available pricing evidence ranges from roughly $3,000–$8,000 in the U.S., £2,500–£7,000 in the U.K., CA$2,500+ in Canada, A$5,000-A$8,500 in Australia, approximately $1,500–$4,200 in Mexico, $1,000–$3,500 in Turkey, $2,000–$5,000 as a research estimate for the UAE, and ₹20,000–₹60,000 in India. These figures should not be interpreted as guaranteed clinic quotes. Some are based on published clinic or directory pricing, while others are broader secondary-market estimates. Always confirm the current price, graft count and inclusions directly with the clinic before scheduling treatment.. What Hair – Hair loss – Canada & Transplant Eyebrow
If you’ve searched “eyebrow transplant cost” a couple times? If you have, you probably noticed the same frustration I did in doing the research: one number, no evidence, zero clinic names. So, I gathered pricing from clinic web pages, doctor booking systems, directories and secondary market sources for the eight countries covered in this guide, separating published clinic prices from broader research estimates wherever possible.
How We Researched These Prices
HairGrowNeeds separates clinic-published prices from broader market estimates. When a clinic publishes a specific eyebrow-transplant price, we identify the figure as clinic-published pricing. When a specific clinic price is unavailable, we use directory listings, published market data or other secondary pricing sources and label the figure accordingly as a market range or research estimate. Currency conversions are indicative only, and actual prices should be confirmed directly with the clinic before scheduling an appointment.
What Is an Eyebrow Transplant, Exactly?

An eyebrow transplant is an outpatient procedure that involves the harvesting and repositioning of individual hair follicles – usually from the back or sides of the scalp-to the brow region by way of Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) or Direct Hair Implantation (DHI). Individual follicles are inserted, one at a time and at the perfect angle, as they grow in a totally different direction and pattern than scalp hair. If you’re off on that angle, your brow appears attached.
Cleveland Clinic describes eyebrow transplantation as a procedure that moves hair follicles from the scalp to the eyebrows, with new growth developing over time.
Procedure time varies by the number of grafts and treatment plan, but eyebrow transplantation is generally performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia, and the transplanted hairs retain their follicle and blood supply to keep growing permanently, unlike microblading, brow pencils, and growth serums that merely maintain your existing hairs.
Why People Get Eyebrow Transplants

Most patients fall into one of these categories:
- Naturally thin or sparser eyebrows.
- The effect of plucking and a very enthusiastic threading procedure, that left the follicle damaged.
- The result of scars (burns, surgery or accidents) of an auto-immune condition like alopecia, a thyroid problem, chemotherapy and more.
- To start with a fresh page from several years of refreshing microblading with filler.
- And the reason why many want it, the desire for a more full and sculpted brow look.
How the Procedure Actually Works

Step 1: Design and Consultation
The brow shape is mapped on the face, considering symmetry – and this is where an “average” result becomes great. It all depends on planning; the amount of density, arch height and even direction of growth for each follicle.
Step 2: Donor Extraction
Follicles are extracted one at a time from the back of the scalp (sometimes behind the ear), because this is hair that most closely mimics your natural brow texture and rate of growth.
Step 3: Local Anesthesia
The donor site and the brow are numbed. Eyebrow transplantation is commonly performed using local anesthesia; the type and use of any additional sedation should be determined by the treating surgical team.
Step 4: Implantation
They’re all positioned at a shallow angle for an effective fan out like actual hair and this is actually one of the reasons why eyebrow transplants cost more than hair transplants on a per-graft basis, you actually do use fewer grafts than with a scalp transplant overall.
FUE vs DHI for Eyebrow Transplants: What’s the Real Difference

| Factor | Standard FUE | DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) |
|---|---|---|
| Harvesting | Individual follicles are extracted | Follicles are generally harvested separately, with implantation using an implanter |
| Eyebrow use | Commonly described in eyebrow-restoration literature | Used by some clinics |
| Main advantage | Selective single-hair graft harvesting | Allows implantation using an implanter device |
| Important consideration | Surgeon must control angle, direction and placement | Device choice does not replace surgical planning |
| Cost | Clinic-dependent | Clinic-dependent |
The success of the eyebrow transplant depends on the surgeon to select suitable single hairs and to precisely set the angles, the directions and the densities and less on relying on the branding or commercial trademark.
Are Eyebrow Transplants and FUE Hair Transplants Different?
Eyebrow transplantation uses many of the same follicular-transplant principles as scalp restoration, but the surgical demands are different. Eyebrow grafts are typically selected as individual hairs, and their angle, direction, spacing and curvature must reproduce the natural brow pattern.
So the honest answer: The same basic surgery, only eyebrow work has a much greater demand in the hair angle and the way the hair is curled and hair density in terms of the hair root per hair stem, so that’s why not all really, really good scalp doctors are really, really good eyebrow doctors.

Microblading vs. Eyebrow Transplant: Which Is Actually Better

Before we even get into price point, I’m always going to be asked about this one – it’s without a doubt a hot topic and it’s something important for all of my clients to be able to articulate with an honest perspective.
Microblading
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing procedure rather than a surgical hair-restoration procedure. It creates the appearance of individual brow hairs with pigment, whereas transplantation moves living hair follicles into the brow.
Eyebrow Transplant
An eyebrow transplant involves the placement of living hair follicles harvested from another part of your scalp. This is a surgical procedure in the true sense of the word, and since you’re receiving your own natural hair, it is intended to provide long-term, potentially lifelong growth unlike the pigment in tattoos that will fade and change color.
| Feature | Microblading | Eyebrow Transplant |
|---|---|---|
| Permanence | Semi-permanent | Long-term / potentially lifelong |
| Cost | $300 – $800 per session | $1,000 – $15,000 depending on country/clinic |
| Recurring cost | Yes,touch-ups every 12 – 24 months | No – one-time investment |
| Procedure time | 1 – 2 hours per session, non-surgical | Varies by procedure and graft count, surgical, local anesthesia |
| Recovery | A few hours to 2 weeks for full pigment healing | 1 – 2 weeks visible healing; shed cycle at 2 – 4 months |
| Maintenance | Low – no trimming needed | High – weekly trimming required, since it’s real scalp hair that keeps growing |
| Best for | Fine, sparse brows needing a subtle fill | Bald patches, scarring, or total brow loss |
| Natural texture | Flat, drawn-on appearance up close | Real hair with natural growth and 3D texture |
If you just don’t have a lot of natural hair to work with (but your brows are there structurally), microblading is your less invasive choice. If you have a truly missing brow from hair loss or scarring from injury (or you just over-plucked and your hair will no longer grow) no amount of ink is going to simulate the texture of real hair only a transplant can give you follicles.
Deep Dive: Method, Recovery & Best Candidates
It is not only the durability that makes the difference – this technique is entirely different. In the case of a transplant, living hair is moved from the scalp to the brows and the surgeon must get a grip of the natural angle and cascading flow of brows – otherwise the hairs appear pasted. With microblading, no real hairs moved, but instead, the pigmentation, which consists of medical pigment, are deposited in very thin, hair-like strokes into the top skin layers creating the illusion of real hairs – without an actual follicle beneath.
Recovery differs also. A transplant needs about 3-4 weeks to recover the transplanted hairs and to be able to fall in month 2 to 4 before going back naturally, microblading is done on about two weeks but pigments requires a very rigorous healing ( no sun, no scratching, no excess moisture ) if we want the color to remain well defined .
The best candidate therefore also differs according to that. For transplant, only individuals with serious excessive plucking damage, scar tissue, and genetic brow hair baldness, when there really is no existing hair to boost the outcome will benefit from transplant procedures. But microblading will be the choice for anyone that merely desires a temporary boost in the contour of their brows or a filler of existing thin spots in their brows without a surgical treatment.

Eyebrow Hair Transplant Recovery Timeline

| Timeframe | What to Expect |
|---|---|
| Day 1 – 3 | Swelling, redness and small crusts may occur |
| First 1–2 weeks | Crusting resolves; transplanted hairs may shed |
| Months 3–4 | Early new growth may begin |
| Months 4–8 | Density and growth continue developing |
| Around 6–12 months | Result continues maturing; individual timelines vary |
Because transplanted scalp hair continues to grow differently from natural eyebrow hair, regular trimming may be needed after the transplanted hairs become established. The frequency varies by the individual’s hair-growth characteristics and should be discussed with the treating surgeon.
Eyebrow Transplant Cost by Country 2026
So, I reviewed clinic websites, doctor booking systems, directories and secondary pricing sources across the eight countries below. Where a specific clinic-published eyebrow-transplant price was available, we distinguish it from broader market research and estimates rather than presenting every figure as a confirmed clinic quote.

| Country | Price Range / Research Estimate | Local Currency | Graft Requirement | Evidence Type | Notes |
| United States | $3,000–$8,000 (up to $15,000 at premium clinics) | USD | Depend on case | Secondary pricing research / market range | Pricing is supported by secondary U.S. pricing sources; this is not presented as one verified clinic quote. |
| Canada | CA$2,500+ | CAD | Depend on case | Directory and clinic pricing evidence | WhatClinic lists eyebrow-transplant pricing from CA$2,505, including individual clinic listings. |
| United Kingdom | £2,500–£7,000 | GBP | Depend on case | Published market pricing | Published clinic pricing is available; ranges vary by clinic and graft requirement. For example, Harley Street Hair Clinic publishes £2,500–£6,000. |
| Australia | A$5,000–A$8,500 | AUD | Depend on case | Published market pricing | Market figures are based on published pricing sources rather than a single standardized national price. |
| Mexico | $1,500–$4,200 | MXN / USD | Depend on case | Research estimate / secondary pricing | Treat as an estimate rather than a verified clinic-specific eyebrow-transplant quote. |
| Turkey | $1,000–$3,500 | USD / EUR commonly quoted | Depend on case | Published clinic/package pricing | Turkish clinics commonly publish package or procedure pricing; figures should be confirmed directly with the clinic. Current published 2026 sources show roughly $1,000–$3,000. |
| UAE (Dubai) | $2,000–$5,000 | AED | Depend on case | Research estimate / secondary pricing | Converted estimate; not presented as a verified clinic-specific price. |
| India | ₹20,000–₹60,000 | INR | Depend on case | Directory / published market pricing | Based on directory and published market information reviewed for the article. |
Note:
Eyebrow restoration graft cost is a widely variable process and cannot be extrapolated from the country-wide price guide on the information we’ve provided. Graft numbers are published in eyebrow restoration papers as being around 70-120 for smaller reconstructions, with larger reconstructions requiring far greater numbers depending on the severity of hair loss, coverage required and whether any reconstruction of scars is also performed.

Turkey vs. USA vs. India: Which Country Should You Actually Pick
| Features | Turkey | United States | India |
| Best for | All-inclusive value packages, high patient volume | Board-certification, easiest follow-up access | Absolute lowest price point |
| Regulatory oversight | Varies by clinic – vet carefully | Strictest (ABHRS, board certification standard) | Varies widely – verify NABH accreditation |
| Follow-up access | Limited once home | Easiest | Limited unless local |
Turkey and India can be substantially less expensive than many U.S. clinics based on published prices, but the comparison becomes less meaningful once flights, accommodation, follow-up care and the surgeon’s specific credentials are included.
None of these is a universally right choice it comes down to how much you value in-person follow-up versus how much you’re willing to save by traveling.
Eyebrow Transplant Cost Per Graft

| Country | Cost Per Graft |
|---|---|
| United States | $8 – $15 |
| United Kingdom | £6 – £12 |
| India | $2 – $5 |
| Turkey | Usually bundled into a flat package rather than billed per graft ($1,250 – $3,000 total) |
A per-graft cost is only an indication of general clinic prices. A large number of clinics and a good number in Turkey will package the hair transplant into a set fee per procedure rather than charge per individual graft. Your final quote will depend on your surgeon’s experience, clinic prestige, the total number of grafts you need, and the elements covered by the clinic’s price structure.
Before You Compare Eyebrow Transplant Prices
Don’t think of a cheap transplant as same as an expensive transplant: Always take care what is the actual procedure or what are procedures which you will be served while comparing the costs.
| What to Compare | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Number of grafts | A higher or lower graft count can materially change the procedure and price. |
| Surgeon involvement | Confirm who designs the brows, extracts the grafts and performs implantation. |
| Eyebrow-specific experience | Eyebrow restoration requires different angle, direction and placement considerations from scalp transplantation. |
| Anesthesia | Confirm what type of anesthesia or sedation is included. |
| Aftercare | Check whether medications, instructions and follow-up appointments are included. |
| Follow-up | Particularly important if you are traveling internationally for treatment. |
| Revision policy | Ask whether additional work is included or charged separately. |
| Travel package inclusions | For medical tourism, confirm whether accommodation, transportation and other services are actually included. |
What’s Actually Included in the Price

A transparent quote should include:
- Initial consultation and brow design.
- Local anesthesia.
- The FUE/DHI procedure itself.
- Surgeon’s fee.
- Post-op medications.
- At least one follow-up appointment.
- Aftercare instructions.
Hidden Costs Patients Often Miss
- Pre-op blood tests.
- Prescription medication beyond what’s bundled.
- Travel and hotel costs if going abroad.
- Time off work.
- A possible touch-up session if density falls short.
Before comparing just the procedure price for your international procedure, remember to calculate your total travel cost, including flights, meals, and accommodation. A Turkish package at $1,500 can come out to almost as much as a moderate U.S. Procedure after paying $900 for your flight and accommodation.

How to Choose the Right Clinic

Price should be the last filter, not the first.
| Consultation Question | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| How many eyebrow-specific procedures have you performed? | Eyebrow work needs different artistry than scalp work – general hair transplant experience alone isn’t enough |
| Who does the actual implantation? | In high-volume clinics, technicians sometimes do the placement instead of the surgeon |
| Can I see 12-month results, not just week-one photos? | Early photos always look better than they end up being – shedding and shock loss happen to everyone |
| What’s included in the quoted price? | Aftercare, medication, and follow-up visits vary a lot between “cheap” quotes |
Who’s a Good Candidate?
- Non-progressive thinning (the hair loss has been stable, and isn’t actively getting worse).
- Adequate amounts of healthy hair on your scalp for use as donor hair.
- Reasonable expectations of density, and the overall shape.
- You have no acute skin infections or uncontrolled autoimmune diseases.
Myths Worth Killing
“A cheaper clinic gives the same result, just discounted.”
Not necessarily. A lower quote may reflect differences in surgeon involvement, clinic overhead, graft count, aftercare, or what is included in the package. Price alone cannot establish quality.
“Results look natural immediately.”
The final cosmetic result develops gradually, and the timing varies between patients. Growth and density may continue to develop for several months after transplantation.
“Eyebrow hair transplants use eyebrow hair as the donor.”
Scalp hair is the usual donor source for eyebrow transplantation, although donor selection depends on the patient’s hair characteristics and the surgeon’s plan. The donor hair is actually scalp hair because eyebrows follicles are so small they’re not the right for grafting and hair loss on brows can be for very many reasons. It’s how a surgeon is able to make hair from the scalp act like brow hair and mimic the texture and shape that.
Risks and Complications: What Can Actually Go Wrong

The Eyebrow Transplant Risks Although relatively safe as a procedure when weighed against most other forms of cosmetic surgery, eyebrow transplants aren’t without risks. Here the risks look slightly different to your usual procedure to implant hair, given the extremely small margin for error when we’re working in a small, extremely visible space.
Incorrect angle and direction
Incorrect angle or direction is an important technical consideration in eyebrow transplantation. Because eyebrow hairs grow in different directions across the head, body and tail of the brow, careful design and placement are important to achieving a natural appearance. The surgeon’s planning and the technique used for graft placement can influence the final direction and orientation of the transplanted hairs.
Graft Failure
Not every transplanted follicle necessarily produces the intended cosmetic result. Published eyebrow-restoration literature describes graft loss and poor growth as possible outcomes, particularly where scarring or poor tissue perfusion affects the recipient area.
Infection
Rare, but it can happen if sterile technique is compromised; this applies at the donor site as well as the eyebrow. Possible signs of postoperative infection should be discussed with the treating surgeon; patients should follow their clinic’s aftercare instructions and seek medical assessment if they develop concerning symptoms.
Ingrown hairs or small bumps In some cases, these will form at the implantation site as the follicle adjusts.
Overharvesting the donor area
Excessive harvesting from a concentrated donor area can make the extraction sites more noticeable. A surgeon should plan the donor harvest carefully and distribute extraction appropriately to minimize visible thinning.
Asymmetry
Some degree of asymmetry can occur because eyebrow shape, healing and hair growth can vary between the two sides. If refinement is needed after the result has matured, the treating surgeon can assess whether a revision or touch-up is appropriate.
Choosing an appropriately qualified surgeon with specific eyebrow-restoration experience may help reduce avoidable technical problems, but no surgical procedure is risk-free.
Eyebrow Transplant Financing: What Are Your Options If You Can’t Pay Upfront
Since eyebrow transplants are considered cosmetic and not typically insured, you’ll be expected to pay out-of-pocket but clinics aren’t demanding full payment upfront.
- Financing availability varies by clinic and country. Some U.S. practices offer third-party healthcare financing, while others offer clinic-specific payment plans. Patients should compare the total repayment amount, interest rate, fees and promotional terms rather than focusing only on the monthly payment.
- Personal loans: Instead of opting for a clinic payment plan, a couple of individuals opted to take out a general personal loan from elsewhere, just so long as they had a more affordable interest rate.
- Medical tourism package financing: Clinics in Turkey and Mexico more frequently provide deposit now, pay balance on arrival options that lessen the impact to a patient’s wallet when flying abroad for a treatment.
But whichever of these you go for always check what the final cost with interest amounts 0% short term.
Male vs Female Eyebrow Transplants: Does Gender Change the Approach?
You’re right in a few important ways eyebrow restoration and design isn’t a cut and dried template.
The cause of eyebrow loss varies considerably between individuals. Over-plucking, scarring, trauma, alopecia and other medical conditions can affect anyone. Brow design should be based on the patient’s existing anatomy, facial proportions, donor hair and desired result rather than a simple male/female template.
Eyebrow design is individualized rather than determined solely by sex. Some aesthetic preferences may differ between traditionally feminine and masculine brow designs, but the final shape should be based on facial anatomy, existing brow structure, donor hair characteristics and the patient’s goals. Graft requirements also vary by the extent of reconstruction. A near-total reconstruction may require more grafts than a partial-fill procedure, regardless of whether the patient is male or female.
Densities vary We find that when the females are being reconstructed from near complete loss(more often the case after over-plucking years ago) the number of grafts can be slightly higher per eyebrow as compared to the average male, partial-fill case, even though the same procedures and methods remain unchanged.
And this is part of the reason that some clinics, such as Rejoice Hair Transplant in Mumbai that specifically advertises as being specialists in repairing over-plucked female eyebrows, specialize in just one type of eyebrow and don’t treat it as just generic hair restoration applied to a new part of the body.
Does an Eyebrow Transplant Leave a Scar?
FUE generally leaves small extraction-site scars, which may be difficult to notice once healed, although scar visibility varies by patient, punch size, harvesting pattern and healing, with the FUE method, as each follicle is removed one by one using a punch that measures less than a millimeter as opposed to a single strip cut. FUE generally leaves small extraction-site marks, and their visibility varies according to punch size, harvesting pattern, individual healing and other patient factors. These marks may become less noticeable as healing progresses.
The eyebrow (recipient) area itself typically shows no visible scarring either because of tiny incisions made to perform the transplant. If a patient is having an eyebrow reconstruction to restore coverage over existing scar tissue that resulted from a burn, accident or previous surgery, then the surgeon must closely assess the quality of the scar and the local blood supply to that area before proceeding with transplant, since poor circulation may cause hair grafts to fail. A qualified surgeon will often recommend scar revision or multiple procedures over time rather than a transplant into severely scarred skin in one session.
What Results Actually Look Like: Realistic Before-and-After Expectations

And I will just tell it as it is about something most clinic marketing pages do not say. Many clinic galleries emphasize mature before-and-after photographs, so patients should also ask to see intermediate stages when possible, they share is from 10-12 months out. NOT right after the surgery. If you compare your results to the website “after” photo with only a week 2 result or month 3 results then you might believe there was something wrong when there is not.
So let’s see a more realistic timeline. Week 1- several days: minor irritation with slight redness & scabs Week 2-4: visible shedding, giving you a more “thin” appearance where implants are or some patchy areas Month 3 onward: steady thickening with each passing month Month 9–12: the result may continue to mature, with individual timelines varying by patient and procedure. You want to see examples of all these stages of development.
FAQs:
Q: How long do eyebrow transplants last?
Eyebrow transplantation is intended as a long-term or potentially lifelong restoration because transplanted scalp follicles continue producing hair after they are established in the eyebrow. However, individual results vary, and the transplanted hairs usually need regular trimming because scalp hair continues to grow longer than natural brow hair.
Q: Is an eyebrow transplant risky?
Eyebrow transplantation is generally performed as an outpatient procedure, but like other surgical procedures it can involve risks such as infection, graft loss, scarring, asymmetry and unwanted hair direction.
Q: Which country is best for an eyebrow transplant?
There is no single best country for everyone. Compare the surgeon’s eyebrow-specific experience, medical credentials, who performs the graft placement, documented long-term results, clinic standards, total cost and your ability to receive follow-up care after returning home.
Q: How painful is an eyebrow transplant?
Because the treatment area is numbed with local anesthesia, patients may experience pressure or discomfort during the procedure rather than significant pain. Some soreness or tenderness can occur afterward, but the experience varies by patient.
Q: Can you regrow eyebrows after 50?
People over 50 may still be candidates for eyebrow transplantation. Suitability depends on factors such as the cause and stability of eyebrow loss, donor-hair availability, skin condition, overall health and the surgeon’s assessment.
Q: Do eyebrows look natural after an eyebrow transplant?
If done correctly with an experienced surgeon with a thought process about how the hair angles should be the single biggest factor to having an unnatural result will be poor angle planning.
Q: How many grafts are needed?
The number varies widely. Published eyebrow-restoration literature describes procedures using roughly 70–120 grafts for many reconstructions, while more extensive cases can require substantially more. The number depends on whether the goal is a partial fill, full reconstruction or scar repair.
Q: Can eyebrow and eyelash transplantation be performed together?
They are related but technically different procedures, and eyelash transplantation requires additional precision because of the eyelash’s direction and proximity to the eye. Whether they should be combined depends on the patient’s needs and surgeon’s assessment.
Q: Is it covered by insurance?
Eyebrow transplantation is generally considered cosmetic and is usually not covered by standard health insurance, but coverage depends on the insurer, policy and reason for reconstruction. Reconstructive circumstances may be treated differently, so patients should check directly with their insurer.

Conclusion:
An eyebrow transplant is one way to permanently increase the number of growing hair follicles in an area of the brow where follicles are absent or significantly reduced. The end result whether you’re moving beyond years of excessive plucking, recovering from scarring, or simply don’t want to spend hours each morning touching up your brow with a pencil comes down entirely to a surgeon’s skill at aligning and positioning hair.
Get at least two consults, make sure they show you 12-month results and not before pictures, and be 100% clear about the person who will actually be doing the implantation – for something as prominent as your eyebrows, that is arguably the most important thing to check on this entire page.
